  • General data:
    • We started off at Tony's Place at 0830 Hr with as objective Wat Pa Mok and its large reclining Buddha in Pa Mok district of Ang Thong. We followed the Chao Phraya along the right bank until Pa Mok and made a rest stop at Wat Prasat Thong to take a look at the newly restored monastic structure along the Bang Ban Canal, the Chao Phraya River bed in olden times. We continued until Wat Pa Mok were we visited Phra Sayat, the large reclining Buddha dating from the Ayutthaya Era. The vihara was just renovated and was opened to the public again since May 2014. We continued north and crossed the Chao Phraya River to the other bank, where we returned in direction of Ayutthaya. Here also we followed as much as possible the left bank of the main river. We made a refreshment stop in Ban Mai at the Chao Phraya Hut Resort on the  junction of the Chao Phraya River and the defunct Bang Kaeo River. We arrived back in Ayutthaya at around 1245 Hr at M&M Guest House. It was a leisurely trip in which we had the occasion to take some photographs.
    • The weather was cloudy. Maximum temperature was around 30 C (Humidex: 34 C) with a southern wind of 10 Km/Hr. Humidity was 66 % (Source: VTBD).
